Let your heart light your way out of the darkness...

You’re holding a collection of poems that speak to the deepest corners of grief…and healing. On Love and Light... captures the raw emotions of loss—each poem is a journey through heartache, memory, and resilience. Through his poetry, Kevin Hess invites his readers to explore their inner strength, the power of loving oneself, and the transformative healing that comes from self- compassion.

Kevin James Hess was born in the South, raised in the West, and has now settled in Northern Wisconsin with his love, a psychic kitty, and a star kitten. A lifelong writer, English major, and graduate of the Indigo Lotus School of Intuitive Arts, after a too-long career in IT Kevin is now aligned to where he belongs—among nature, auroras, water, and words.

There are two gospels: one that appeals to who we are in the world, and one that appeals to who we are in God.

Our contemporary notion of the truth of the gospel is more the result of Aristotle than Jesus because Aristotle had told us that truth was something to know. In the modern era of the 17th and 18th centuries Western civilization decided that our knowing of truth should be object, certain, and precise after the model of mathematics. Consequently, the notions of modern Christianity that began to appear at that time have ultimately created over forty thousand different Christian denominations worldwide, each claiming that they have a more objective, certain, and precise knowing of the gospel. Jesus’ truth, however, is a way to be and a life rather than something to know and believe. “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” This book is about how we get back to that idea of truth as something to be rather than something to merely claim to know and believe.

The Monk, the Trunk, and the Junk is a story and a roadmap out of clutter and confusion and into spiritual discernment and clarity. Discover the importance and benefits of mindfulness, simplicity, and a “less is more” attitude, and at the same time learn how to “widen” the present to savor every moment.
